Happy New Year to all you Yotsies out there from your boys in Year of the Serpent!

2009 was a good year for the band. We got new songs, new members, our own practice space, we made tons of new fans and played in cities where the Serp’ has never gone before! Our plans for this year are to write more songs, go to more cities and get some merch for you all to wear. We are definitely looking forward to 2010!

Hey hey all!

Just a quick update. We have a show coming up Dec. 4th at the Pourhouse in Aberdeen, WA. This’ll be the Serps first time playing in Aberdeen! So all you Aberdeenians need to get your asses out to the Pourhouse Friday, December 4th and get yourself a heapin’ helpin’ of Year of the Serpent style heavy metal!

Also, shirts are still in the works. We should be solidifying a design here soon and then start getting them printed soon after.

Everyone please welcome: MATT WIEBER!

Matt comes to us much the same way Scott did. Trapped in Oregon with no good bands to jam with, Matt decided it was time to end his dry spell with music and join the boys in Year of the Serpent in their quest to dominate the world with their phenomenal music.

Here’s some facts about Matt:

- Like Scott, Matt’s last band was Relent For No One.
- He’s been playing guitar for 13 years.
- He’s 25
- His favorite beer is Total Domination IPA
- His favorite color is green.

We’re excited to have Matt join us. We are now complete and will be doing everything we can to get the Serp as big as possible! And, with your, the fans, help, we will be able to put Heavy Metal back on the top where it belongs!

Next, we’ve just added two more gigs to our line-up of shows! The first is at the Funhouse with our good buds Schudge, and the second is our Halloween show at the Whiskey City Rock Bar in Portland! You cannot afford to miss this show. There’s going to be metal, strippers, booze and yours truely playing the best tunes in the Northwest. You have nothing more important in life than to show up and have a good fuckin’ time with us. NO EXCUSES! IF YOU HAVE PLANS, CANCEL THEM! Or, at least hang out for a little while, then go back to your party or whatever you’re doing that night.

September 19th and 20th, your favoritest band in the world is going to be recording a brand-monkey-spanking new E.P.!

It’s time for a tour, Serp-heads!

The Serp is headin’ out on its “Pre-Mini Tour” Mini Tour before heading out on it’s Mini Tour in September! The first date is Friday August 28th at the Seafarer in Tacoma, WA, and the next is Saturday August 29th at the world-famous RYNOFEST in Salem, OR!
